Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
CellKeeper is an iPhone and iPad app developed by Vadim Katenin. This policy describes its current release implementation. Questions and privacy requests: [email protected].
Station data you enter
CellKeeper stores station names, brands and optional models, purchase and warranty details, charge readings, maintenance history, procedure progress and optional measurements, manual links and notes, and reminder settings in the app's local database. You decide what to enter. The app does not read data from your power station.
Private iCloud synchronization
When iCloud is available for your Apple Account, CellKeeper uses Apple's private iCloud database to synchronize station data between your devices. Your daily reminder time is also synchronized through Apple's iCloud preferences. Notification permission and welcome-tour completion stay local to each device.
Synchronization sends data to Apple's iCloud service; it does not mean the data stays only on one device. There is no CellKeeper server, public station directory, separate CellKeeper account or sharing with other users. The developer does not receive your station database. Apple's processing, security and retention are governed by your Apple Account settings and Apple's Privacy Policy. Transfers can be delayed, and local access continues if iCloud is unavailable.
Notifications and local settings
CellKeeper schedules local reminders only with the notification permission granted on that device. Reminder content may include a station name and maintenance or charge-check information; your system notification-preview settings control what others can see. App-private preferences are stored using UserDefaults. Apple's system services may deliver iCloud change notifications; CellKeeper does not operate a push-notification backend.
Purchases
Apple processes the optional one-time unlock through the App Store. CellKeeper checks verified StoreKit transactions to enable CellKeeper Plus and restore purchases. Plus includes additional stations, repeating outages with grid recharging, and solar planning. The developer does not receive your payment-card details. Apple handles purchase records, refunds and related information under its policies.
Product analytics
CellKeeper uses Mixpanel to understand which features are used and where setup, care procedures, planning and purchases encounter problems. Analytics is enabled in the release app. It records actions such as opening the app, adding a station, progressing through a procedure, saving a plan and opening or completing a Plus purchase. Properties contain broad categories, count ranges and success or failure outcomes.
Analytics does not include station names or identifiers, model text, notes, manual links, charge readings, measurements, selected reminder dates, appliance names or types, receipts, payment details or raw error messages. Station records continue to stay in your local and private iCloud databases. Mixpanel receives a randomly generated installation identifier, event timestamps, app and operating-system versions, and limited SDK diagnostics. This is pseudonymous usage data, not anonymous data: actions from the same installation can be associated. CellKeeper does not link that identifier to your Apple Account, email or other devices. Because events from the same installation share this identifier, the App Store privacy details list this data as linked to you.
Events are sent to Mixpanel's EU endpoint. CellKeeper disables automatic event collection, user profiles, session recording, advertising identifiers and IP-based location enrichment. As with any network service, Mixpanel may process a connection's IP address to receive and secure requests. Mixpanel processes this data for product analytics; see Mixpanel's Privacy Policy.
There is currently no in-app analytics switch. Removing the app stops future collection from that installation; it does not automatically erase previously received analytics. You can contact [email protected] with a privacy request. We do not automatically know which installation belongs to an email address, so locating a particular record may require additional information. Please do not send your station database or payment details.
Apple Ads attribution
On a release launch, CellKeeper asks Apple’s AdServices framework for an attribution token and sends it directly to Apple to learn whether the installation came from an Apple Ads campaign. The token is not saved or sent to Mixpanel. A successful lookup is marked as complete on the device; a failed lookup may be tried again on a later launch.
When Apple reports an attributed installation, CellKeeper sends limited campaign metadata to Mixpanel with the installation’s pseudonymous analytics events. This can include campaign, ad group, keyword and ad identifiers, the campaign’s country or region, conversion and claim categories, and ad placement. The purpose is to understand which Apple Ads campaigns lead to installations and to using CellKeeper, such as setting up a station or unlocking Plus. The event does not contain station data, notes, readings, your Apple Account, the attribution token, or click and impression timestamps.
This attribution does not use the advertising identifier or track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites. Apple’s processing is described in Apple’s Privacy Policy; Mixpanel’s processing is described in the product analytics section above.
No in-app advertising
CellKeeper does not display ads or include advertising SDKs. It uses Apple’s AdServices framework only for the Apple Ads attribution described above, and it does not track you across other companies' apps and websites. It does not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone, camera or location. Apple may process system diagnostics according to your device settings.
Manual links and support
Opening a manufacturer's website or another saved manual link takes you to an external service with its own privacy practices. If you email support, the developer receives the address and information you choose to send. Please avoid sending sensitive notes, payment information or complete station histories unless needed for your request. Support correspondence is used to respond and resolve the issue.
Retention, deletion and your rights
You can delete readings and stations in the app. Deleting a station also deletes its related history, and that deletion propagates to your other devices using the same private iCloud store when they synchronize. It may not be immediate, and Apple-managed backups may retain data according to your settings and Apple's retention policies.
You can manage CellKeeper's access to iCloud and notification permission in system settings. Removing the app from one device does not by itself delete its iCloud data or App Store purchase record. Use Apple's iCloud storage controls for account-level data management. Contact [email protected] with questions; the developer cannot directly access or erase your private iCloud station database.
Analytics events, including Apple Ads attribution, and support correspondence are retained only as reasonably necessary for their stated purposes, subject to Mixpanel's retention settings and legal obligations, and may be aggregated or deleted sooner.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or obtain a copy of personal data, object to processing and complain to a data-protection authority. Contact [email protected]. Because CellKeeper has no accounts and does not associate your email with its installation identifier, an email alone may not allow us to locate your analytics events. We will explain any verification or technical limitation when responding.
Changes
This policy will be updated if the app's data handling changes. The date above identifies the current version.
