Privacy Policy

PR Studio ("the App") is a macOS application developed and operated by Vadim Katenin ("I", "me"). This Privacy Policy explains what the App does and does not do with your information.

1. The short version

There are no user accounts, no advertising, no tracking, and no analytics or telemetry of any kind. The screenshots, recordings, drafts and templates you work with never leave your Mac.

The App contacts a server of mine in exactly one case: when you type a message into its feedback form and press send. That is described in full in section 7. Apart from it, and from Apple's own purchase handling, the App makes no network requests.

2. What stays on your Mac

Everything you put into the App — the screenshots and recordings you add, the annotations you draw, the tables you build, the pull-request drafts you write, the templates you save, and the items parked on the floating shelf — is stored in the App's own storage on your Mac, using standard Apple frameworks. This content is yours, it stays under your control, and it is removed when you delete the App and its data.

The App is sandboxed by macOS and runs with the Hardened Runtime, so its reach outside its own storage is limited to what you hand it.

3. Files, drag and drop, and the clipboard

The App works with files in three ways, all of them started by you: you open a file through the standard macOS open panel, you drag a file or image onto a window or onto the shelf, or you paste from the clipboard. In each case the App receives only the item you gave it. It does not browse your disk, index your files, or read your clipboard in the background.

The App does not request access to your camera, microphone, screen recording, location, contacts, calendars, or any advertising identifier. It does not capture your screen — a screen recording is something you make with macOS and then hand to the App to trim.

4. Apple Intelligence

The optional writing polish uses Apple's on-device foundation models through the operating system. The text you ask it to improve is processed on your Mac — it is not sent to me, to Apple's servers, or to any third-party AI provider, and no API key or account is involved. This feature requires macOS 26 on a Mac that supports Apple Intelligence; where it is unavailable, the App simply does not offer it.

5. GitHub, GitLab, and where your screenshots actually go

The App does not connect to GitHub, GitLab, or any other code-hosting service. It has no tokens, no credentials, and no access to your repositories.

The workflow is the other way around: the App prepares compressed images and markdown, and you upload the images yourself by dragging them into a comment box in your browser. When you paste the resulting links back, the App reads them as plain text to match each link to a cell. Anything you upload to those services is then governed by their own terms and privacy policies, not by this one.

6. Purchases

The App offers Pro as a one-time lifetime purchase. It is not a subscription and does not renew. All purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. I never receive or store your payment details, card numbers, or billing address. Apple provides me only with aggregated, anonymized sales reports that cannot be used to identify an individual customer.

Your entitlement is checked on your Mac through Apple's StoreKit. Your App Store purchase history is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

7. The feedback form

The App includes a feedback form. It is entirely optional, and nothing is transmitted unless you write a message and press send. When you do, the following is sent to a server I operate:

• Your message and the category you picked.
• Your email address — only if you choose to type one. Leave it blank and I have no way to reply, but the report still reaches me.
• An install identifier: a random value the App generates on your Mac the first time it is needed. It is not your name, your Apple Account, your device serial number, or your IP-based identity; it exists so that two reports from the same installation can be recognised as related.
• Technical context: the App's version and build number, your macOS version, your Mac's model identifier, and your locale — the things I would otherwise have to ask you for.

Nothing else is included. Your screenshots, recordings, drafts, templates, shelf contents, and file names are never attached to a feedback report — if a screenshot would help me understand a bug, you have to send it to me by email yourself.

The report is delivered to a serverless endpoint and stored in a database hosted on Supabase, which acts as my processor. As with any request to any server on the internet, your IP address is visible to that infrastructure in transit and may appear in its short-lived operational logs; it is not stored alongside your report, and I do not use it to identify or locate you.

I do not sell this data, share it for advertising, or use it to build a profile of you. I keep a report only as long as I need it to answer you and to fix what you reported, and delete it afterwards.

Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis is your consent, given by choosing to send the form, together with my legitimate interest in supporting and improving the App. You can withdraw consent, or ask me to delete a report you have sent, at [email protected].

8. The rating prompt

After you have used the App successfully a number of times, it may ask once whether you are enjoying it. Answering positively opens Apple's standard review prompt; answering negatively opens the feedback form described above, so you can tell me what is wrong instead. Your answer is recorded only on your Mac, and the prompt itself sends nothing.

9. Diagnostics and crash reports

The App contains no crash-reporting or analytics library. If you have opted in to Share with App Developers in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may provide me with anonymized crash logs and performance metrics through App Store Connect. This is Apple's standard developer diagnostics program, it is aggregated and not linked to your identity, and you can opt out of it at any time in the same settings pane.

10. Children's privacy

The App is a developer tool, is not directed at children under the age of 13, and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. If a child has sent a feedback report, write to me and I will delete it.

11. Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights of access, correction, deletion, and portability over personal data held about you. The only personal data I ever hold is what you chose to put in a feedback report. In practice:

• Your work — screenshots, recordings, drafts and templates are on your Mac already; I hold no copy and never have.
• Access, correction and deletion — write to [email protected] and I will find any feedback you sent and correct or delete it. If you left an email address, that is what I search by; if you did not, tell me roughly when you wrote and what about.
• Do Not Sell or Share — I do not sell or share personal information, and never have.
• Complaints — if you are in the EU or UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

12. Security

Local data is protected by macOS file protections, the App sandbox, and your account credentials. Feedback reports are sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection and stored by my processor under its own security controls. Because no other data reaches a server of mine, there is no store of your content to be breached.

13. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will be reflected in the App's release notes.
