Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 8, 2026

This policy describes Ringfold, an iPhone app developed by Vadim Katenin. Questions and privacy requests: [email protected].

Your numbers stay on your iPhone

Rules, exact-number lists, phone numbers, rule and list labels, exceptions and drafts shared with Ringfold are stored locally in a container shared by the app and its extensions. Ringfold passes the numbers covered by your enabled rules, after exceptions, to the iOS Call Directory system for blocking and supplies rule or list labels for caller identification. iOS controls how identification appears, including the app name. These numbers and labels are not uploaded to a Ringfold server or to Mixpanel.

The app cannot read your call history and does not request access to your address book, microphone or location. A number reaches Ringfold when you type it, paste it with the system paste control, select it from a screenshot, or explicitly share it. A shared contact is parsed on your device. Ringfold does not observe or count incoming or blocked calls.

Screenshots and shared content

You choose an image through the system Photos picker or share an image, text or a contact to Ringfold using the iOS Share menu. Ringfold reads the selected content; it does not scan your photo library or monitor your screen. Apple Vision recognizes text on your device. Review the detected phone numbers and select the ones you want to use.

Ringfold does not upload screenshots or recognized text to an OCR service or to Mixpanel, and does not save a copy of the source image in its rules or backup files. Image previews and recognized text are used during import. Only the numbers you confirm are saved in a rule, list or shared draft, together with any label you enter. The original image remains in Photos or its source app until you manage it there; selecting an iCloud photo may require Photos to download it first.

Backups and Files

You can export rules, exact-number lists and exceptions to a backup file and import a file you choose. The file may contain phone numbers and labels. Its destination and anyone you share it with are your choice. Keep backups in a location you trust. Ringfold has no cloud account or automatic sync service. Apple's device backups may include app data according to your backup settings.

Product analytics

Ringfold sends limited usage events to Mixpanel, Inc. automatically from app launch to understand feature use and improve reliability. These events use a random installation identifier. They are pseudonymous: events from the same installation can be associated, but the app does not send your name, email or Apple Account to Mixpanel.

Events describe opening the app or editor, a built-in template category, saving or deleting a rule, enabling or disabling a rule, changing the default country, a categorical number-check result, attempting to apply changes, progressing through setup, viewing the paywall, and purchase or restore outcomes. Purchase-start events include the monthly or annual plan and trial eligibility, but no Apple Account or receipt. A rule-save event includes the number of wildcard digits, whether an existing rule was edited, and whether it is an ordinary rule or an exact-number list. Screenshot events record recognition success or failure and coarse count buckets (none, one, 2–10, 11–100, or more than 100), plus whether you confirmed a selection. Other categorical events describe opening a list editor or shared draft, adding or removing an exception, checking whether iOS protection is enabled, loading subscription plans, selecting a billing interval, and closing the paywall with or without Pro access. These events contain no recognized numbers, image content or exception values. The country-change event does not contain the country or a phone number. Technical context includes app and operating-system information, timestamps, environment and SDK identity/event bookkeeping.

Phone numbers, exact-number list contents, number prefixes and ranges, rule and list labels, exception numbers, screenshots and recognized text, contacts, call history, clipboard contents, shared drafts, search text, payment details, receipts and transaction identifiers are not sent to Mixpanel. There is no advertising identifier, cross-app advertising tracking, automatic event capture, user-profile identification or session replay. IP-based event geolocation is disabled. Like other internet services, Mixpanel processes network information needed to receive and secure requests.

Mixpanel is an analytics processor for the app. Events use its European data-residency endpoint. See Mixpanel's Privacy Statement and subprocessors for its processing and international-transfer information. Ringfold does not sell this data or use it for targeted advertising.

The purpose is understanding feature use and improving Ringfold's reliability. Analytics are collected automatically; the app does not contain an analytics switch. Your rights and applicable legal protections are not waived by using the app.

Subscriptions and payments

Apple processes monthly and yearly Pro subscriptions, renewals, cancellations, refunds and restored purchases. The app verifies access using StoreKit. The developer does not receive card numbers or billing addresses. Limited purchase and restore outcome events are described above. Apple's own processing is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Support and diagnostics

If you email support, the developer receives your email address and the message and attachments you choose to send. These are used to answer your request, not for advertising. Please redact phone numbers from screenshots unless necessary. Apple may separately provide diagnostics if you enable sharing with app developers in iOS settings; this is independent of Ringfold's Mixpanel analytics.

Retention, deletion and your rights

Saved rules, lists and exceptions remain locally until you remove them or delete the app. You can discard a pending shared draft in Ringfold. Exported files, original screenshots and Apple backups must be managed separately. Analytics and support correspondence are retained only as reasonably necessary for their stated purposes, subject to service retention settings and legal obligations, and may be aggregated or deleted sooner.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or obtain a copy of personal data, object to processing and complain to a data-protection authority. Contact [email protected]. Because Ringfold has no accounts and does not associate your email with its installation identifier, an email alone may not allow us to locate your analytics events. We will explain any verification or technical limitation when responding. Deleting the app stops new events from that installation; it does not automatically erase previously received events or cancel an Apple subscription.

Security and children

Local content benefits from your device's iOS security and passcode settings. Network analytics use HTTPS. No system can guarantee absolute security. Ringfold is a general utility, not a service directed to children. If you believe a child has supplied personal information to support, contact the developer.

Changes and contact

The date on this page changes when the policy changes. Material changes will be communicated in the app or release information as appropriate. Vadim Katenin is the controller for the analytics and support processing described here. Contact: [email protected].
