Privacy Policy

ЗНО арена ("the App") is an iPhone and iPad application developed and operated by Vadim Katenin ("I", "me"); the name is Ukrainian for "ZNO Arena". This Privacy Policy explains what the App does and does not do with your information.

1. The short version

The App has no user accounts and no server of mine. Your answers and your best scores stay on your device — I never receive them. The App is free because it shows ads through Google AdMob. It does not ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites, so on iOS 14.5 and later the advertising identifier is not available to it. That limits what Google can know about you, but it is not the same as a guarantee that every ad is non-personalised — see section 4.

2. Information stored on your device

The App stores a small amount of information in its own storage on your device, using standard Apple frameworks:

• your best score for each subject;
• a counter of how many times the App has been launched, used only to decide when to show the "rate the app" prompt.

None of this is sent to me, and all of it is removed when you delete the App.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App shows banner, full-screen (interstitial), and rewarded-video ads supplied by Google AdMob. To select and measure those ads, Google receives technical information from the device, such as the IP address, device type and operating system version, coarse location derived from the IP address, and interactions with the ad itself (that it was shown, that it was tapped).

Google acts as an independent controller of that information — it is collected by Google's SDK, not sent to me. Its handling is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and by Google's advertising terms. You can review and adjust the ad settings tied to your Google account at My Ad Center.

4. App Tracking Transparency and the advertising identifier

The App never presents the App Tracking Transparency prompt and never requests permission to track. On iOS 14.5 and later this means the advertising identifier (IDFA) is not available to the App or to the SDKs inside it, so the App cannot follow you from one company's app to another's.

To be precise about what this does not mean: the App does not send Google a "non-personalised ads only" flag with its ad requests, so Google may still tailor an ad using signals it is allowed to use without the IDFA — the country derived from your IP address, the device and its language, the context of the App itself, and any preferences held against a Google account you are signed in to elsewhere. The controls are at My Ad Center.

5. No analytics, no accounts, no purchases

The App contains no analytics SDK and no in-app purchases, and I receive no crash reports from it. The Google Mobile Ads SDK does install its own exception handler and reports crashes that originate inside that SDK back to Google. There is nothing to sign up for, nothing to buy, and no profile of you anywhere. Aside from the advertising described in section 3, the App makes no network requests.

6. Location, contacts, camera, notifications, and other sensitive data

The App does not request or use your precise location, contacts, calendars, photos, camera, microphone, health data, or notifications. The only location-related information involved is the coarse, country-level location that Google derives from the IP address for the purposes described in section 3, which is inherent to making any network request.

7. Links to other sites

Tapping an ad takes you to the advertiser's own site or App Store listing. Once you follow such a link you are on someone else's service, governed by their privacy policy, not this one.

8. Apple diagnostics and crash reports

If you have opted in to Share With App Developers in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may provide me with anonymised crash logs and performance metrics through App Store Connect. This is Apple's standard developer diagnostics programme, it is aggregated and not linked to your identity, and you can opt out of it at any time in the same settings screen.

9. Children's privacy

The App is built for students preparing for Ukraine's ЗНО (External Independent Evaluation) school-leaving examinations. It is not directed at children under the age of 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian with a privacy concern, contact me using the details in section 12. Because the App has no accounts, I generally cannot associate an email request with a particular installation.

10. Security

The information the App keeps on the device is protected by iOS data protection and your device passcode. Requests made by the advertising SDK are encrypted in transit. No quiz answers or scores are transmitted at all.

11. Retention and your rights

Everything the App itself stores stays on your device until you delete the App. Data collected by Google through the AdMob SDK is retained under Google's own policies and settings, not mine.

Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal data, to object to processing, and to complain to your local data-protection authority. In practice:

• Stopping the advertising collection — delete the App. There is no paid ad-free tier in ЗНО арена.
• Google-held data — the ad settings tied to your Google account are managed at My Ad Center, and Google-wide data controls at your Google Account.
• Requests to me — write to [email protected]. The App has no accounts and does not send me your contact information, so I generally cannot connect an email request to one installation.
• Do Not Sell or Share — I do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. As stated in section 4, the App does not request tracking permission.

12. Contact and data controller

13. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will be reflected in the App's release notes.
